My name's Daryl. I played Jim Hawkins in Theater Down South's 2009 production of Prince Street Players's Treasure Island. This blog was originally meant to document the show's run, but is now moving on like I am, and will follow me as I continue to do this crazy job. Stick around, and I hope you find something of interest here. Get in touch!

A look back on Treasure Island, Part I

This was taken in the Theater Down South office shortly after midnight on September 18th (technically September 19th). The press preview was set to take place in less than 18 hours, and we all were beginning to feel the end of Production Week Hell Week and the beginning of the 8-week run.

The calendar on the upper right-hand corner was for September. The red marks indicate finished rehearsal days (our Stage Manager had yet to cross out that day from the week). The short announcement below that was written by Micko (Ben Gunn/Men’s Chorus/All-around IT guy), asking the actors to submit their profiles and photos so he could update our website. Our Stage Manager, Adrian, was kind enough to write down a small note of encouragement on the upper left-hand side. None of us ever figured out if the drawing next to it was coffee or soup.
